City of Trees is an exciting project set to invigorate Greater Manchester's landscape by planting 3 million trees and transforming unloved and underused woodland.

To help tackle the effects of climate change and global heating the UK needs to see a significant rise in tree planting, and fast. The Committee on Climate Change say 30,000 hectares of woodland needs to planted annually, more than double the current rate of planting.

Our first step towards helping is becoming a supporter of the City of Trees through membership of their 100 Trees Club.

It's not the full solution, but it's a good start, and in the not too distant future I hope we'll be increasing our support.
