We're Hiring

.net Developer

Things are going well in the world of managing absence. More companies than ever signing up, more companies taking advantage of a really simple concept and feeling the benefits.

But we're not one to be complacent, we've got a backlog of tweaks, features, design improvements, usability and hosting enhancements. Tech doesn't stand still and we're not so arrogant as to think our app is perfection, not quite anyway ;)

'Onwards and upwards' as they say!

We're looking for a .net web developer with around 4 years+ experience building web apps in the real world. Ideally you'll have experience with:

  • ASP.NET MVC and Web API
  • C# (the more recent versions a big advantage)
  • Hosting web apps in azure
  • Mobile app development (Cordova, native, all good)
  • SQL Server
  • Javascript (the language, not the latest noun-js framework)
  • ReactJS, and other UI frameworks
  • GulpJS, WebPack, or similar
  • A passion for the web, and for building modern web apps

We're a small team so you'll also be on the front line. Customer service is provided through a help center with ticketing (Zendesk). We all work on this, it's a great way to get close to customers and understand how they use Timetastic and the problems they face. Being on the front line, understanding their pain, answering their questions, helps us all build a better product.

We're all homeworkers at Timetastic, and you will be too. Ideally though, as we like to meet up in Manchester on a regular basis, a reasonable proximity to Manchester is important.

If this sounds like your thing then send us an message and introduce yourself.

New Mobile Apps

Today we're announcing the release of the long overdue updates to iPhone and Android apps.

To be completely level with you, the previous apps were way short on functionality and had numerous bugs, they were out of sync with the web app in their design and usability.

Our only course of action was to start from scratch and build a completely new mobile experience, one that's in line with the web app, one you'll feel instantly at home with.

So after many months of design, code, releasing, then design again, code again, bug fix, test, design, code, test (you get the picture) - we are finally there.

We've no doubt that despite all our testing and tweaking there will be some niggles that arise in the first few weeks, if you spot anything please do let us know.

And otherwise we'd love to hear your feedback :)

Timetastic Update : 14th September

This months update brings some eagerly awaited functions, a big step forward for us.

1. Carry Forwards

This has been the most requested function over recent months, so it's great to be telling you about the new function to carry forward any unused leave to the next year - subject to your company policy obviously.

Admin users can configure annual carry forward by heading to:

Settings > General Settings

You can see from below, we've made it super easy for admin users to understand and configure. You just set the maximum number of days/ hours that can be carried forward into the next year in line with your company policy.

The rest is automatic, when your year end arrives the carry forward will happen and a summary sent to your admin users by email.

2. Photo Uploading

Since launch we've relied on Gravatar to pull through profile images. Although we'll continue to do so where a photo is present on Gravatar, we now also offer the ability to upload a photo directly.

You can access the photo uploader from My Details and clicking 'change photo' (apologies for my mugshot here).

3. Reformatted 'My Details' page

Some of you will also notice the new format for 'My Details' and 'User Edit' pages. The new tabbed format gives better structure to the data and in part a step toward improving the mobile experience.

So this update is yet another big step forward, if you have any questions or have any issues then let us know.
